PROGRAM INFORMATION

Diabetes or prediabetes distress can cause feelings of overwhelm, frustration, or defeat. Examples of impacts from this distress include high blood pressure, high cholesterol or triglycerides, gut issues, anxiety, fatigue, brain fog, sleep issues such as sleep apnea, increased severity of symptoms of COVID-19 and other infections, and difficulty maintaining desired weight. The Integrative Mind-Body Diabetes & Nutrition Program below is designed to minimize risk by eating your favorite cultural foods and integrating current, research-based neuropsychological behavior changes and mindfulness techniques. The goal is to regulate blood sugars, reduce heart disease risks, and stabilize the high and low emotional rollercoaster that follows.

  • This program is for you if any of the following applies to you:

    • You’ve worked with doctors or hospital/clinic dietitians and have not had long-term success with managing your blood sugars

    • You want to understand the role of insulin resistance on the body and how to decrease risk

    • You don’t need a diagnosis. However, if you are diagnosed with diabetes, prediabetes, high cholesterol, or have a family history of any of the above, this is especially for you

    • You stay busy and want to spend less time thinking about what foods you should eat and how to prepare them, and more time simply enjoying the foods you love

    • You are at a place where you want to focus on your health by understanding what nutrients will keep you feeling like you are fully nourishing your body

    • You are confused and frustrated about the amount of nutrition information circulating the internet and would like a practical approach to a long-term healthy lifestyle

    • Learn how to shop for healthy foods for yourself and your family by understanding how to read food labels and learn the recommendations for important nutrients on the label

    • Learn about stressful lifestyle triggers, find ways to minimize triggers, and adapt healthy mindset techniques and paradigms to decrease the body’s stress and change behaviors for good

    • Explore mindfulness, emotion/stress management, healthy mindset, and so much more
